Namak Halaal was a Amitabh Bachchan’s comedy movie directed by Prakash Mehra. Smita Patil paired opposite Big B. Amitabh raised laughs with different body language and different dialogue delivery. The story is simple, but entertainment part made the movie a super hit.
Arjun (Amitabh Bachchan) goes to Mumbai from his village, to get a job and start new life, according his grand father (Om prakash)’s wish. He attempts an interview to get job in a five star hotel which belongs to Raja (Shashi Kapoor). He gets a job there and meets Poonam (Smita Patil) and falls in love with her.


A goon Giridar Singh (Satyendra Kapoor) and his son Ranjeet (Ranjeet) starts attacking on Raja. Arjun protects him every time. Arjun also finds that, Raja’s mother is originally his mother.

Amitabh Bachchan‘s performance is highlight for the movie.

Nishant was a classic film from most senior director Shyam Benagal, it was released in 1975. He received National award for this movie. Nasiruddin Shah, Amrish Puri, Shabana Azmi and Smita patil are the lead role in the movie.


Zamindaar (Amrish Puri) is a powerful man in a small village, no one abstracts to his word. He and his brothers will do any thing for their own happiness. But the younger brother Vishwam never involves in any bad habits.

One day Vishwam watches Susheela (Shabana Azmee) who is wife of new school master (Girish Karnad). Vishwam falls for her beauty. One day Zamindaar’s men kidnaps Susheela. School master watches this, and shouts for help but no one supports to him including police. How he protected his wife is the remaining story.

Vanraj bhatia gave music to this classic. Satyadev Dubey appeared in a key role as priest. This movie is a subject for many directors who wants to make a movie based one village zamindaars.

Shakti was a Hindi film from Sholay team. Sholay director Ramesh Sippy, and writers Javed Aktar and Salim Khan worked for this movie. Amitabh Bachchan played the lead role. His character moves with a negative shade.


Ashiwini Kumar (Dilip Kumar) is a strict police officer. J.K. Verma kidnaps his son young Vijay. Verma demands the release of one of his followers. But Ashwini Kumar ignores this proposal. Vijay manages to escape from Verma. Vijay (Amitabh Bachchan) never forgets his father act. He feels his father does not love him and leaves home.


Vijay and his wife Roma (Smita Patil) join as assistants to K.D.Narang (Kulbhushan Kundra). He is also a mafia don working under Verma. Narang forces Vijay to join as a bodyguard for Verma.

This is entirely a different movie. Amitabh Bachchan really was great to act in this type of negative characters.

Arth is a lady oriented movie in 1982. Shabana Azmi played the major role in this movie.Shabana Azmi received a National Award and a Filmfare award for this movie.This movie was based on the relationship between Mahesh Bhatt and Parveen Babi. The interesting thing is this film was directed by Mahesh Bhatt.


Pooja (Shabana Azmi) is an orphan who marries Inder (Khulbushan Karbanda). Later she knows about her husband’s affair with an actress Kavita (Smita Patil). Pooja leaves to a hostel. Inder forces her to give a divorce. Kavita leaves Inder. But Inder never interests Pooja.


Rohini Hattangade and Gulshan Grover also played important roles in this movie.
