Saagar was a classic movie in 1985. It was directed Ramesh Sippy and produced G.P.Sippy. It was nominated to Indian Oscar awards in Best Foreign Film category. It won Four Filmfare awards.

Mona (Dimple Kapadia) is a beautiful girl lives in Goa and runs a restaurant. Raja (Kamal Haasan) a middle class guy lives near to Mona’s house. He is in love with Mona but never exposed his feelings to her.

Ravi (Rishi Kapoor) a rich and young business man. He falls in love with Mona in first love only. Mona also agrees his love. But Raja don’t know about her love towards Ravi. Tragedy strikes when Ravi’s family opposes Ravi and Mona’s love. How their love got succeed and what Raja did for Mona’s love is the rest of story.

Bobby was the biggest hit of  Bollywood in 1973. It was biggest hit in 1970’s after Sholay. Rishi Kapoor and Dimple Kapadia were paired opposite each other. It was a feel good love story directed Raj Kapoor.

Story revolves around a rich business man Mr. Nath (Pran)’s only son Raj Nath (Rishi Kapoor) and a poor fisher man Jack (Prem Nath)’s daughter Bobby (Dimple Kapadia). Jack respects his daughter’s love and tries to speak with Mr.Nath.

But Mr. Nath humiliates jack and arranges marriage to Raj with a rich girl (Farida Jala). Raj escapes from home to meet Bobby. How Bobby and Raj wins their love and what are the problems they faced in their journey is the remaining story

Karz (1980)

Karz (1980) was a Bollywood movie from Subhash Ghai. Story revolves around re-incarnation. It was a Block Buster movie for that year.


Sir Judah ( Prem Nath) who is a mute guy tries in many ways to get Shanta Prasad Verma’s properties, but Shanta Prasad’s son Ravi Verma (Raj Kiran) spoils all those plans. Then he appoints Kamini (Simi Garewal) to kill Ravi Verma.

Ravi falls to Kamini’s charming beauty and marries her. While they are going to Ooty, Kamini brutally kills him on an lonely road. 25 years later Ravi Verma re born as Monty ( Rishi Kapoor). Monty who is a successful singer suffers with some nightmares.

With the doctor suggestion, he goes to Ooty to take rest. Their he reminds every thing about his previous birth. He notices that, Kamini has occupied his entire property. How he takes revenge on Kamini and how he meets his mother and sister is the remaining story.

28 years later Satish Kaushik remade this movie with the name Karzzz starring Urmila Matondkar and Himesh Rehsammiyya.

Kabhi Kabhie

Kabhi Kabhie was a movie from Yash Chopra in 1976. Amitabh Bachchan, Shashi Kapoor and Rishi Kapoor were played the lead roles. It was a clean family drama. Music was composed by Khayyam.

Pooja (Rakhee Gulzar) and Amit Malhotra (Amitabh Bachchan) are lovers in their college days. But Pooja marries Vijay Khanna (Shashi Kapoor) as per her parents wish. Amit later marries Anjali (Waheeda Rahman). Anjali was a widow before marrying Amit and also has a daughter Pinky. But she never reveals this to others. Pinky is adopted to a childless couple.

Young Pinky (Neetu Singh) falls in love with Vicky (Rishi Kapoor). Vicky is none other than, only son of Pooja and Vijay Khanna. Pinky comes to know about her mother. She tries to meet her and be with her, but Anjali rejects her. How she met her mother and how Vicky married Pinky is the remaining story.

Sargam was a remake for telugu block buster movie Siri Siri Muvva. Dr K. Vishwanath has directed both Telugu and Hindi versions. Sargam movie launched Jaya Prada’s career in Bollywood. It was one of the Biggest Bollywood hit for 1979.


Story revolves around a mute dancer and her partner(Rishi Kapoor). Shashi Kala , Shakti Kapoor and Aruna Irani played other key roles in this movie. Mohammad Rafi has sang all the songs in this movie. Lakshmikant-Pyaarelal won the Filmfare best music director award.


Jaya Prada and Rishi Kapoor was nominated to Filmfare awards but failed to win.

Amar Akbar Anthony

Amar Akbar Anothony was a multi starred action movie. Amitabh Bachchan and Rishi Kapoor and Vinod Khanna were played the lead role in the movie. Manmohan Desai was the director for this block buster. This movie created new records in Bollywood.


Three brothers separated from there family in their childhood because of a mafia don. They brought ups in different places, at the people who belongs to different religions. They meets with each other in a strange situation. Later they takes revenge on the people who caused for their separation.


Neetu Singh paired opposite Rishi kapoor and Shabana Ajmi and Parveen Babi are the other female lead cast for the movie. Recently Abhishek Bachchan said that, this movie was inspiration for his acting career.

Your candle burned out long before…but your legend never did

Raj Kapoor’s name  is synonymous with Bollywood.

He had a child like quality that tugged at one’s heart. He reached dizzying heights in the 50s  and upwards and was seen in classics like Barsaat, Awaara, Mera Naam Joker, Anari and Shree 420.


Awaara (1951) had many Kapoor elements. While Raj Kapoor directed, produced and acted in it, it also starred his grandfather Dewan Bashwanath Kapoor, his father Prithviraj Kapoor, his younger brother Shashi Kapoor and his lady love Nargis. It was a poor boy falls in love with a rich girl story.


Mera Naam Joker (1970) was a poignant story about a clown Raju who wears his heart on his sleeve, only to have it broken.


Kapoor passed away while making the movie Henna in 1988. The movie was completed by his son Randhir Kapoor and released in 1991.


His story was carried forward by his sons Rishi Kapoor, Randhir Kapoor and Rajiv Kapoor.
