Vijay and his wife Roma (Smita Patil) join as assistants to K.D.Narang (Kulbhushan Kundra). He is also a mafia don working under Verma. Narang forces Vijay to join as a bodyguard for Verma.

This is entirely a different movie. Amitabh Bachchan really was great to act in this type of negative characters.

Released on August 15th 1975, Sholay went on to be voted the Film of the Millenium by BBC India.

The movie was supposed to have been ‘inspired’ by an earlier release Bindiya Aur Bandook. It was written by Salim Khan and Javed Akhtar and produced by G.P.Sippy.

Jai and Veeru are two thieves and best buds whose path crosses with a police officer Thakur Baldev Singh. They are later hired by Singh to get rid of the dacoit Gabbar Singh. When they are not wreaking havoc in Gabbar’s life, Jai falls in love with Singh’s widowed daughter-in-law Radha and Veeru falls in love with Basanti, who drives a horse cart.

The music was composed by R.D Burman and Kishore Kumar and Manna Dey singing Yeh Dosti.
